Health Canada Update on mdsap (webinar Recording)

Neil Fraser of MEDTRonic Canada Appointed as Chair of the MEDEC Board of Directors

MEDEC, the national association representing Canada’s medical technology companies, is pleased to welcome Neil Fraser as Chair of the MEDEC Board of Directors. He is joined by seven new Board members: Rollie Cameron (Johnson & Johnson Medical Products), Mat Dinneen (Bard), François Drolet (Roche Diagnostics), Michela Juran (Welch Allyn), YJ Oh (Edwards Lifesciences), Cameron Piron (Synaptive Medical) and Stephen Thompson (Baxter).

Ontario Appoints William Charnetski as Province's First-Ever Chief Health Innovation Strategist
Ontario's Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care announced today that the government has appointed William Charnetski as the province's first-ever Chief Health Innovation Strategist. While Mr. Charnetski's responsibilities in this role will be wide-ranging, he will ultimately 'champion Ontario's health technology innovation sector'.

ONtario Budget Initiatives Strengthen the Province's Medical Technology Industry

MEDEC is very pleased that the 2015 Ontario budget announced that the province will be implementing the transformative recommendations put forward by the provincially appointed Ontario Health Innovation Council (OHIC) in their report, The Catalyst: Towards an Ontario Health Innovation Strategy, which was provided to the government in December 2014.
