Who We Are

MEDEC helps build relationships, provides a strong voice on business issues and acts as a liaison with both federal and provincial governments, key stakeholders, industry partners and the public. MEDEC also promotes the industry and brings forward key messages through active engagement and involvement with stakeholders.

Regulatory Affairs

MEDEC is the industry's liaison and advocacy group with Health Canada and other federal and provincial regulators. We address issues and provide advice related to Medical Device Regulations in Canada including medical device funding and reimbursement, performance of Therapeutic Products Directorate, Health Canada, health protection legislative renewal, cost recovery/user fees, quality systems (ISO 13485), device reuse, health technology assessment, environmental regulation of Medical Devices (Canadian Environment Protection Act (CEPA), Chemicals Management Plan and provincial stewardship regulations.

Education and Information

MEDEC identifies, informs and acts to find solutions on issues that are specific or cut across the industry through timely information and education activities, relevant forums and shared advice, access, and networking and support.

MEDEC Sectors and Committees

Our sector groups and regional and functional committees are patient-focused to bring our members together in a strengthened presence to address common business issues and to develop and support relevant objectives and initiatives. MEDEC also provides secretariat support.
