Ontario has the most consumer-responsive health system, the Frontier Centre for Public Policy said in its fourth annual Canada Health Consumer Index released last month. Ontario has topped the list each year, and the Centre noted its shorter wait times and “strong performance in the heavily weighted patient outcomes category” for its winning result. The rankings of the other provinces, in order, are: British Columbia and New Brunswick (tied), Manitoba, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. The Frontier Centre said Nova Scotia’s poor score on wait times affected its last-place finish. Read more here.
