Saskatchewan Surgery Wait Times Down

Saskatchewan’s Health Minister, Don McMorris says there have been big cuts in the number of people waiting for hip or knee surgery. The province says the number of people waiting more than 18 months for surgery, between March 2008 and March 2010, has dropped 39 per cent. However, over that same period of time, the number of people waiting went up to 600 in the 10 largest health regions. McMorris claims that the length of time people wait is a bigger concern than how many people are on the list. He said there is more to be done but the reduction in wait times over the last two years is a big step in the right direction. Read more on the wait times here.
