The federal government is being asked to step up its involvement in securing a stable supply of health professionals for Canada. In a recent report, the Commons Health Committee said Ottawa, the provinces and territories need to work together to address health human resource challenges. Also mentioned in the report, was federal funding and how that is needed in primary care reform and also needed in the increasing the capacity of the health education system to train foreign-trained health professionals.
