The European Commission is expected to adopt its proposed report on the reprocessing of medical devices in August, and then transmit it to Council and Parliament by a September 5 deadline. The report looks at the impact of reprocessing single-use devices (SUDs) on public health and examines legal, ethical, and environmental aspects. The Commission is also currently drafting an impact assessment to examine different policy options and their potential impact from a social, environmental and economic stand point.
