Advancing Healthcare Through Innovative Technologies and Devices

Canadians are concerned their quality of health care will decline from the strain posed by aging baby boomers, a new poll suggests. The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) carried out the poll as part of its annual report card. About 76 per cent of those polled said they were concerned that they will have to pay more taxes so that the health care system can provide services to the baby boom generation. In another poll released last Wednesday, Canadians were asked how governments should keep up with the growing tab for health care. The majority of Canadians, 61 per cent, said focusing on finding more efficient ways to deliver health care is their preferred option, while 28 per cent said a bigger piece of the tax-dollar pie should be devoted to health care, which could mean cuts in other government services.
