The Alberta government has announced $1.4 billion in spending on health facility projects in several medium-sized cities and rural locations. In a news release the province says the money will be spent on 22 projects in 15 communities. The announcement includes an additional $1 billion for facility maintenance. The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees has applauded the province’s announcement and is glad the vast majority of funding is for publicly operated health care facilities. (Canadian Press)
